You know this feeling

Bookkeeping isn't hard because the maths is hard. It's hard because nobody has time for it.

The receipt is gone

Faded in the car, tossed in a drawer, lost in a wallet. By tax time you're guessing — and guessing costs you deductions.

Nobody has time

Accounting software assumes you think like a bookkeeper. You're running a business, not learning debits and credits.

December panic

A year of paper in one weekend, your accountant chasing you, and no idea whether you actually made money.

Four steps, and three of them are “send a photo”.

No onboarding course. No chart of accounts to configure. It works the way you already use your phone.

Connect once

Create your account, then tap one link to connect Telegram. Takes about a minute, and you never have to do it again.

Send it

Photograph the receipt and send it on Telegram — the way you'd send it to a colleague. PDFs and bank statements work too.

It gets read

AI reads the supplier, date, total and every line item — even handwriting — then files it to the right account. It asks when it's unsure.

Your books update

Real double-entry entries, instantly. Open the dashboard whenever you like, or just ask “how's my business this month?”

Books an accountant will actually accept

Not a spreadsheet with a nice theme. Proper accounting underneath, in plain language on top.

Real statements

Profit & loss, balance sheet and cash flow — generated from a double-entry ledger that always balances.

Kept 7 years

Every receipt stored and searchable for seven years — the retention period the Income Tax Act (s.82 & 82A) expects.

Find anything

“That petrol receipt in July” — search by supplier, amount or category and see the original scan beside what was read.

Line-by-line

One receipt, several categories. Each item is filed on its own merit, not lumped under the shop's name.

Your whole team

Staff send their own receipts from their own phones. Everything lands in one set of books.

Hand over cleanly

Export statements and receipts as CSV or PDF whenever your accountant asks. Your data stays yours.

Simple pricing

Less than an hour of a bookkeeper's time, every month.

What is Finance Butler?

Finance Butler is an AI bookkeeping service for small businesses in Malaysia. You send a photo of a receipt on Telegram and it is read, categorised and filed into proper double-entry books automatically. There is no app to install.

How do I do bookkeeping without an accounting app?

Send each receipt as a photo on Telegram as soon as you get it. Finance Butler reads the supplier, date, total and line items, files them to the right account, and keeps a running profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow you can open any time.

How long must a Malaysian business keep receipts?

Seven years. Under the Income Tax Act 1967 (sections 82 and 82A) businesses must keep sufficient records for seven years from the end of the year of assessment. Finance Butler stores every receipt and statement for that period and makes them searchable.

Does Finance Butler make me LHDN compliant?

It keeps your records the way the law expects — organised, complete and retained for seven years — so you are ready if you are audited. It does not file your taxes and does not submit e-Invoices to MyInvois, so full compliance still rests with you and your tax agent.

How much does Finance Butler cost?

Plans are RM39, RM59 and RM99 per month, differing only in how many receipt scans are included: 300, 700 and 2,000 per month. Every plan includes the full product and you can cancel any time.

What counts as a scan?

One photo or file you send, whatever is on it. A receipt with twelve line items counts as one scan. Bank statements are not counted at all.

Can I use Finance Butler outside Malaysia?

The bookkeeping engine is country-neutral — double-entry accounting, profit and loss and balance sheets work anywhere. The tax and record-retention guidance is written for Malaysia, and prices are in Malaysian Ringgit.

Is my financial data private?

Each business's books are isolated from every other business at the database level. Documents are processed by Google's Gemini AI to read them, payments are handled by Stripe, and you can export or delete your data at any time.

What if the AI reads a receipt wrong?

It tells you when it is unsure and asks rather than guessing. You can correct any filing in one tap and it remembers your choice for next time.

Can my accountant use it?

Yes. Everything exports to CSV and PDF, and the underlying books are standard double-entry, so nothing is locked in a proprietary format.

Stop filing. Start sending.

Set it up in a few minutes, then forget about bookkeeping until you feel like looking.
